Custom Residential projects are our specialty only because we get to use all of our resources and creativity to give the best possible end product. Working with homeowners to create that perfect outdoor living space is truly our signature service. Projects range from simple front door entryways to completed design-build, full property construction packages. Backyards ranging from patios to sport courts, hot tubs, swimming pools and pool pavilions are all a part of what we can create. We offer the whole package, “One Stop Shop” – all varieties of hardscapes, craftsman built wooden structures, irrigation, lighting and all phases of landscaping. With having our own nursery, we can provide all or part of the plant material needed on a project. We grow small plant material to large boxed trees, depending on the level of completed look you are after. No project is too small or too large. Our largest residential project took a little over 18 months and cost close to two million dollars.

Design process

The process begins with a visit to your home to assess your needs and wants as well as your budget and goals as we make general recommendations. From there we create a design package based on our recommendations and your input. This starts the beginning of a in depth, engaging, interactive landscape design that will give you the sense of mind moving forward not only with the design process but then on into the construction as well. All design processes are slightly different depending on the customer. Some designs will require only a concept set of sketches while some projects will require whole sets of building specks to insure the finished project is built to or above industry standards and or to the state, municipal or local government requirements. A tour of our nursery to help you get a feel for the plant material you might want to work into your project will be incorporated into the process depending on the size and scope of the project. From there, we will incorporate the plant material of our choice or our recommendation and present you with a detailed estimate not only for the plant material but also for the completed construction fees based on the design of the project. Prior to starting the design process we will agree upon a timeline and work diligently to provide you with the very best products and services available.

There are four main design packages we offer. The Platinum package has its own set of rules due to the complexity of the project and there are three other packages to choose from, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Each one has its own level of involvement and complexity. Check out the individual packages to see where you think your project will be.

Platinum

From start to finish this package requires the most effort and involvement of the customer. Typically these types of projects are either larger renovations where you are designing around existing site conditions or it is a large new construction project including all site work, hardscape, water features, lighting, irrigation, drainage and planting plans. This process will start with a site meeting to gather as much information as possible and be followed up by a “design estimate”. To kick the design process off, a concept sketch or sketches will be the first round of drawings and will then progress to revised concept drawings, elevation and perspective drawings both in black and white and colored. A final design drawing will be presented including all layers of the project if needed while including the perspective drawings and elevation drawings. Typically this project will include ball park estimates and then engineer’s/designer estimates to give you an idea of project costs prior to finishing the designs. Depending on complexity and scale, this package will also require a survey to pinpoint the existing site conditions so that a “to scale, detailed plan” is created. This way the project can be engineered and designed with the greatest amount of accuracy and detail which means accurate budgets, drawings and concepts. This can also help in the reverse engineering of a project if needed to create the perfect project based on the perfect budget.

Gold

This package is a slightly less involved package where our design team will go through the same process to kick the project off much like the “Platinum” package, however surveying and topographical studies of the site conditions will not be required for accuracy. If the project is a renovation or new construction project, the level of complexity will be determined by the level or amount of information provided to us at the start. New construction projects typically are accompanied by site condition drawings, plot maps and sometimes an architect’s renditions of the property. This will be the most economical package for most new construction and renovation projects because of the amount of detail that is given to our design team from the start. With this package we will still provide an accurate set of drawings starting with the concept sketches followed up by final concept drawings and then final drawings. Elevation and perspective drawings will be provided based on the level of complexity of the finished project and the visual capabilities of the customer to envision the finished project. This package includes projects estimates for your construction approval.

Silver

With different levels of design packages available, the silver, will allow you to get through the design process a little quicker. From start to finish our design team will create a final set of drawings that typically are in the concept form. This will allow you to see what the project scope will be and you will have a great idea based on the final concept drawings what the layout of the finished project will be. We will also provide concept renderings and elevations if it is necessary. In all, the Silver package is for the more confident customer not only with their own ability to envision the finished product but with their confidence in our ability to build the project. In summery this package will include concept black and white drawings that will get revised into a final concept drawing while black and white concept elevations and perspective drawings could also be part of the package.

Bronze

Simplifying things are sometimes the spice of life. The Bronze package does exactly that. If you are in need of a simple concept planting schematic or layout for the “do it yourselfer” type projects or simply want to take our word for it and just need a sneak peak of what the project will look like when it is completed, the Bronze package is the one for your you. Typically these are smaller projects either a front yard or back yard or a section of planter beds that you want renovated. The Bronze package will also take care of small lighting projects, irrigation renovations, small water features and or patio and deck layouts. While all of the other three packages cater to the whole Outdoor Living experience, the Bronze package is here to take care of that one area or section of the landscape that just doesn’t quite cut it.
